The history of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma in Latin America in the early years of the 20th century is the theme of the “Sudamericanamente” exhibition being held in Montevideo from 15 August to 18 October 2015. The event is being organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in the Uruguayan capital and by the archive of the Opera di Roma in collaboration with the Centro de Investigacion, Documentacion y Difusion de las Artes Esce’nicas. Part of the Year of Italy in Latin America initiatives, the exhibition has already been shown in Nicaragua and will be travelling to Caracas and Lima later this year.
