Minister Giulio Terzi will be in Egypt on Thursday for bilateral meetings at a crucial stage in the redefinition of regional balances, and one year on from the start of the Arab spring. The minister’s meetings in Cairo will aim to strengthen the strategic partnership at all levels and in all spheres of cooperation between Italy and Egypt, a key Mediterranean player. The content and ends of this important mission will be the focus of a briefing by the foreign ministry’s spokesperson Maurizio Massari on Tuesday. Also attending will be the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Rome Mohamed Farid Mohamed Monib.
During his visit to Cairo, in addition to other bilateral issues, the minister will also have an opportunity to confront the regional Mediterranean and Middle East dossiers where Egypt is a strategic partner and continues to play a crucial role. Italy has deep ties of friendship with the Egyptian people and is following the transition confident in the full and normal resumption of the political process.
