The Italian director Marco Bellocchio has received the Elsa Morante Cinema Bratislava Prize, which this year coincides with the 100th anniversary of the writer’s birth. Morante is one of Italy’s most important writers since the Second World War. The prize, now in its 4th edition, was awarded to an Italian and a Slovakian director and to a local personality who has gained distinction in the translation of literary works or the dissemination of Italian culture.
