Costa Rica: Italian Cooperation to prevent youth violence

A country-plan for Costa Rica to prevent youth violence (Lineas estrategicas de acción para la prevención de la violencia que afecta a la juventud”) has been drawn up by Interpeace, a non-governmental organisation. The plan is part of a significant programme for social inclusion and the prevention of youth violence funded by Italian Development Cooperation and implemented by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) as part of the work in this sector by the Central American Integration System (SICA) and its Central American Social Integration Secretariat (SISCA).

The presentation of the plan was attended by the Italian Ambassador, Diego Ungaro, and the Vice President of the Republic of Costa Rica, Alfio Piva, as well as the deputy ministers for Justice, Health and Youth Affairs. Giovanna Rizzi, an expert working with SICA, and formerly with Italian Development Cooperation, and who helped draw up the plan, was one of the speakers. Read more, in Italian.
