Washington: a “Palazzo on the Potomac”

The English edition of the book “Palazzo on the Potomac – Embassy of Italy in Washington” was launched at the Italian Embassy in the American capital. Minister for Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi, in the US for the opening of the Year of Italian Culture in the United States, attended the event.


Italo-US relations


The meeting was moderated by Italo-American journalist Sebastian Rotella. Present also was former Assistant Secretary for International Affairs al Department of Homeland Security Ambassador Marisa Lino, who offered an historic perspective on relations between Italy and the United States.


The book provides a detailed description of the chancery building designed by architect Piero Sartogo, and of the residence of the Italian Ambassador in Washington, Villa Firenze, along with a sweeping overview of the history of bilateral relations, rich in documentation, photographs and anecdotes.
