Italy’s excellent relations with China and preparations for the next bilateral Governmental Committee meeting were the focus of discussions today between Minister for Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi and Deputy Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China Ma Zhaoxu.
During the meeting, held today in the margins of the “New Approaches to the Security Council Reform” ministerial meeting, the Committee’s importance in the direction of Italo-Chinese relations was underscored. The Committee is co-chaired by the ministers of both countries, and its fifth session will take place in Rome late this year.
In the course of a cordial meeting the two ministers also touched on the themes of UN Security Council reform and of the strategic bilateral partnership set up in 2004.
