The Boston events for the Year of Italian Culture in the US got off to a great start, attracting about 7,000 people eager to celebrate the best of Italy’s arts and traditions. Highlights included the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s homage to Verdi, with an exquisite Requiem, a performance of his “Rigoletto” by the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, and an exhibition featuring the “Capitoline Brutus”, on Loan from the Capitoline Museums in Rome.
