The US tour by violinist Matteo Fedeli, which will see him playing a precious Stradivarius dating from 1726 in over 10 east-coast cities, has opened at the Italian Cultural Institute in New York. The initiative is part of the “Year of Italian Culture” programme.

Speakers included Jacqueline Reich, who teaches at Stony Brook University; Elizabeth Leake, head of the Italian Department at Columbia University; Riccardo Viale, director of the Cultural Institute; and Natalia Quintavalle, the Italian Consul General.
