Exhibitions: Giuseppe Penone, the first Italian to show in Versailles

Giuseppe Penone is the first contemporary Italian artist to show his works in the Palace of Versailles, following in the footsteps of Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami, Bernar Venet and Joana Vasconcelos. A leading figures in the “arte povera” movement, Penone has created around 20 bronze sculptures of trees, which will remain on display from 11 June to 31 October 2013.


Prime Minister Ayrault attends opening


The exhibition was opened in the presence of the artist himself, Italian Ambassador Giandomenico Magliano, the French Prime Minister, Jean–Marc Ayrault, and about 1000 guests from the French and international political, cultural and media communities. Read more, in Italian.
