Italy is Pakistan’s 3rd EU trading partner, after the United Kingdom and Germany. Bilateral trade over 9 months amounts to around 557 million euros, compared with about 1.2 billion for the previous financial year as a whole. Italy is the 9th importer of goods from Pakistan, accounting for 2.19% of the total. The leading importers are the United States, with 15.06%, followed by China (10.83%) and United Arab Emirates (9.67%).
In 2012-13, new greenfield inward investment initiatives attracted 1,447 million dollars, an increase of 76.3% taken annually. According to figures provided by the State Bank of Pakistan, Italy made direct (non-financial) investments amounting to 199 million dollars.
