Salvador: Astaldi awarded new contract for city metro
The Astaldi Group was awarded a contract for the second phase of the SITRAMSS project for the San Salvador integrated mass transit system, financed by the Inter-American Development Bank for a total of 11.66 million USD.
Work began on 19 August and should be completed by April 2014. The SITRAMSS project includes another 2 lots for a combined value of 60 million USD. Within the context of maintenance projects with the FOVIAL road maintenance institution, Astaldi was also awarded the contract for the periodic maintenance of the Army Boulevard in the city of Ilopango (4.5 million USD) and for the “northern spine” motorway in the city of Apopa (3.5 million USD) for a total of another 20 million USD over the next two years. Astaldi was also recently awarded the UNOPS contract for the Chiltuipan access road (4 million USD).
