Cybit 2013: MFA IT staff participate in attack simulation

The IT technicians of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs took part in the second nationalwide IT security drill on 5 December, in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Office and with theMinistry of Economic Development.


The purpose of this nationwide drill, known as “Cybit 2013″, was to assess the efficacy of information exchanges between national public institutions and with the private sector based on the architecture outlined for national cybernetic protection and IT security in the DPCM of January 2013.


Cyber-attack simulation


In the imagined scenario, which simulated a cyber-attack on energy sector businesses and government institutions, a series of events were simulated to which technicians had to respond, cooperating with public and private sector personnel to achieve solutions.
