The Deputy Minister for Economic Development has led a multi-sector trade mission to Malaysia, accompanied by the Vice President of Confindustria, Paolo Zegna; the Farnesina’s Directorate General for Country Promotion, with Minister Michelangelo Pipan; ICE/Italian Trade Agency; and Simest. About 30 Italian businesses took part, as well as representatives of Italian and local trade associations.
The mission focused on the automotive, clean energy, oil and gas, and infrastructure sectors. Its goal was twofold. One aim was to raise the awareness of Malaysia’s authorities and its economic community of our hopes for greater involvement by Italian businesses in major development projects, and to alert Malaysian investors to opportunities in Italy. The other was to create concrete business opportunities. 284 B2B meetings were organised, involving 29 companies, 5 trade associations and 5 banks from Italy, along with various Italian companies operating in Malaysia.
The event attracted considerable media interest and was featured in the country’s leading newspapers. Source: infoMercatiEsteri.it
