Foreign Minister Emma Bonino will be meeting the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, in Geneva to discuss the case of the two Italian marines held in India. Minister Bonino announced the meeting to the press after her Senate briefing on the subject this morning, Thursday 13 February. The Italian government contacted Pillay on the grounds that our Navy riflemen’s human rights are being violated as they have been held without charge in India for 2 years.
