Brasilia – workshop on Italian technology and Expo 2015

The Italian embassy in Brasilia recently collaborated with the ICE-Agenzia on the organisation of a seminar in Brasilia entitled “Italian excellence: technologies for Italo-Brazilian cooperation” within the framework of the “Italia na Copa” economic/cultural programme. Speaking at the seminar, Italian ambassador Raffaele Trombetta stressed the fact that Italy is often associated in Brazil with the traditional sectors of food, apparel and furnishings. “Nevertheless, Italian exports to that country also include products of exceptional added value, principally in the sector of mechanical equipment and precision automation”.

The “fourth A” of Made in Italy

The event, the diplomat added, offered an opportunity to foreground “the ‘fourth A’ in Made in Italy – automation – and, more generally, the technological excellence and innovative solutions that transversally affect four key sectors of our economy: recreational and commercial ship-building; interior design and certification; food quality and security; and oil and gas”.

Over 250 participants

Seminar participants included Vice President of the Brazilian interministerial committee for EXPO 2015 Monica Zerbinato, and manager of EXPO 2015 for tourism and ticketing Raffaele Piscopiello, along with over 250 others, including members of the Brazilian parliament, main ministries and financial institutions.
