Bisogniero: “EXPO an opportunity to further develop Italian-US relations”

“Today is a great day because it marks the official start of the US participation in Milan’s EXPO 2015”. The comment was made by the Italian Ambassador in the United States, Claudio Bisogniero, during the ground-breakingceremony for the US pavilion. The event was celebrated by Secretary John Kerry at the Department of Statein a live link with Milan, where the Mayor, Giuliano Pisapia, the President of Lombardy Region, Roberto Maroni, and the Chief Executive of EXPO 2015, Giuseppe Sala, were present at the ceremony.


Platform for innovative dialogue between public and private sectors


“And today is a significant day because it provides direct confirmation that the USA fully recognise the value and importance of the exposition”, remarked the Ambassador. “The scope of the event is huge from a nutritional point of view, for agriculture and as an instrument for the economy and for businesses. It is an opportunity to further develop Italian-US relations in this important sector”.


Bisogniero added that the United States will contribute to this major platform for innovative dialogue between public institutions and the private sector on vitally important global challenges. Challenges that range from food security to climate change to problems related to global population growth.
