Italy is among the leaders of the “Soft-landing programme for technology and innovation collaboration” of the Hong Kong Science Park (HKSTPC). The purpose of the initiative, supported by our Consulate General in Hong Kong, is to offer universities, research centres and eventual foreign spin-offs a chance to promote and develop their innovative ideas in 5 key sectors – bio-technologies, environment, IT, electronics and precision engineering – using the HKSTPC’s institutional and private-sector services, incubation infrastructures and contact network. Of the 250 proposals submitted by 26 local and foreign research centres and universities since the November 2013 start-date, approximately 70 have come from Italian sources.
