The second instalment of the new series of “Diplomazia e Dintorni” radio programmes will be broadcast at 20.00 on Tuesday 14 October 2014. Stefano Baldi will be interviewing Sabrina Ugolini, Head of the Statistics Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Daniela Di Prima, statistics coordinators. Together, they well discover how numbers can reveal some of the less well-known aspects of Italian diplomacy.

Describing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in figures: that’s the task of the Annual Statistics Yearbook, a publication conceived and edited by officials at the Farnesina. Now in its 15th edition, the Yearbook illustrates the work, initiatives and commitments of the diplomatic “machinery” in Italy and abroad, through figures. The Statistics Office, a member of the National Statistics System (SISTAN), is part of the Secretariat General, making. That makes it an ideal “observatory” from which to explore the complexity of an administration with a unique structure divided between its headquarters in Rome and the diplomatic-consular network.
Diplomacy and jazz
“Diplomazia e Dintorni”, the radio programme created and presented by Stefano Baldi to help listeners find out more about diplomats and diplomacy, is broadcast every Tuesday from 20.00 to 21.00 on RadioLuiss.it. The programme is accompanied by a selection of jazz music.
Featuring guest appearances, interviews, books and more, Diplomazia e Dintorni addresses issues linked to the work and activities of diplomats and international officials. It provides an opportunity to explore the international world through the eyes and experience of people working at the international level every day.
