A conference on food security entitled “‘Salus per Cibum’ Espana e Italia: dos paises amigos, una filosofia sobre alimentos y salud” took place recently at the Italian Cultural Institute in Madrid. The event was organised by the Italian Embassy in collaboration with the Agencia Espanola de Consumo, Seguridad Alimentaria y Nutricion and ICE–Italian Trade Agency. Pietro Sebastiani, the Italian Ambassador in Madrid, opened the proceedings, which saw 3 panels of Italian and Spanish experts discuss issues such as food security, healthy eating and lifestyles, the Mediterranean Diet, food waste, and charity.
