Russia – Director Konchalovsky guest of the Italian embassy

‎ Director Andrei Konchalovsky, recent winner of Venice’s Silver Lion with his film “The Postman’s White Nights”, was invited to the Embassy of Italy in Moscow to speak at a public event aimed at underscoring the intensity of Italo-Russian cultural relations. The Russian director chose “The culture of civilisations” as the theme of a speech in which he illustrated various techniques of cinematic and theatrical artistic expression, comparing the Italian and Russian schools. Ambassador Cesare Ragaglini underscored the “by now 50 years of Italo-Russian collaboration in the field of filmmaking as a highly effective vehicle for dialogue that remains one of the most important tools for cultural promotion”.
