The second annual “Internationalisation networks and agencies in Europe” conference was held at the Farnesina today, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Uni-Italia, with the Ministries of Education, University and Research (MIUR) and of the Interior and the Conference of Italian University Deans (CRUI). The meeting offered the principal European agencies concerned with the internationalisation of the University system an opportunity for encounter, and aimed to foster collaboration within the European framework with the goal of ensuring robust sector development.
Discussions treated, among other things, the policies adopted by various European countries to support student mobility and facilitate their reception and integration, with a view to the effective use of available public and private resources. Strong public-private partnership is an important instrument for achieving this common objective.
An introduction by the foreign ministry’s Director General for Country Promotion Ambassador Andrea Meloni was followed by speeches from Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Paolo Gentiloni, Minister for Education, University and Research Stefania Giannini, Deputy Minister for the Interior Filippo Bubbico, CRUI Decan Giovanni Puglisi and Uni-Italian President Cesare Romiti. Representatives of many Italian universities participated in the debate that followed.
