Australia: Barnett give green light to Perth Freight Link
Western Australian Premier Colin Barnett announced approval of the “Perth Freight Link” project for modernising the various infrastructures of Fremantle Port. The project has already been funded for a sum of approximately AUD 1.6 million (more than 1 billion euro) by the Australian federal and Western Australian state governments. The bidding process is to begin in 2015 and lead to the award of two contracts, one for widening the Roe Highway (October 2015) and one for the modernization of Stock Road, Leach Highway and Stirling Highway (November 2015). Construction is set to begin by the start of 2016 and conclude in 2019.
