Indonesia signs industrial cooperation MOU with Italy

The Italian Republic and the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia signed an industrial development memorandum of understanding following negotiations that began in 2013 with an Italian system mission to Indonesia. At that time, Italy was identified as a strategic partner in the development of the Indonesian manufacturing system. The memorandum will provide a framework for individual projects undertaken by Italy and Indonesia in the textiles, leather/footwear and industrial parts and components sectors. Initial efforts will concern the development and modernisation of the Bandung textile plants and a footwear factory in Surabaya, in collaboration with Italian trade associations ACIMIT and ASSOMAC. Collaboration could be expanded over time to include plastics marble working, metallurgy and packaging.
