Marseilles – Pompei and Europe, nature and history

Art historian and CNRS(Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) researcher Maria Teresa Caracciolo, expert on European painting of the 18th and 19th centuries and Franco-Italian relations during the Revolution and the Empire, will hold a conference entitled “Pompei and Europe. Nature and History”, at the Italian Cultural Institute of Marseilles on 10 February. The conference is intended to set the stage for the exhibition at the National Archaeological Museum in Naples (26 May-2 November) entitled “Pompei and Europe. Nature and History (1748-1943)”.
