Munich Conference: Gentiloni cites negotiation as route to settling Ukraine crisis

Negotiation continues to be the only viable route to settling the crisis in Ukraine. “Imagining a military solution as a contribution would be unjustifiably hazardous”, said Minister Paolo Gentiloni, who attended the international security conference in Munich, as he commented on Italy’s stance. Gentiloni, who also held a bilateral meeting with Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov, expressed the hope that the Franco-German initiative would “pave the way to talks”.
