A delegation from the Lombardy Region made a presentation today in Dubai on the numbers and prospects for EXPO Milan 2015. The delegation was led by regional alderpersons Fabrizio Sala and Valentina Aprea, and was the 11th stop of the World Expo Tour created in collaboration with Promos. The tour aim is to attract visitors, consolidate international relations and promote Lombardy as a destination for tourism and investments. “Promoting EXPO, its theme and events, the internationalisation of Italian businesses by strengthening their competitiveness on the global market and foreign investments and interests are the goals of this visit”, Sala stated. In addition to EXPO, which has already sold 8 million tickets (of which 5 million abroad), the focus of the Dubai visit will include what the region offers in investment opportunities, incentives and assistance, with an eye out also for post-EXPO.
Post-EXPO investment opportunities
“A million square metres, among the best infrastructure-outfitted in Italy, will go up for sale under the supervision of the Region, with a view to creating an international hub”, Sala announced during the presentation, whose participants included Italian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Giorgio Starace and Consul Giovanni Favilli.
