Francesca Chini is one of the foremost Italian exponents of performance art, a form of direct and effective communication that has an immediate impact on the viewer. “Technology is interesting”, she says, “but instead of calling you on a smartphone, I’d rather make you double over to talk into a plastic cup connected by a string”. Her exhibitions are appreciated in galleries and museums around the world and will be featured at the Italian Cultural Institute of Toronto (496 Huron St.) on Wednesday 24 June at 18:30.
