“Happenchance: World War II photographs, Italian campaign, 1942-45” is the title of an exhibition hosted from 1 to 29 September by the Italian Cultural Institute of New York of the photographs of Alfonso Carrara (1922-2012), Italian architect, artist, poet and photographer who worked with the American 5th Army during the Second World War. The exhibition was previously mounted in San Francisco (18 June-31 July) and organised by the Italian Cultural Institutes of the two cities in collaboration with that of Chicago.
