Dei – China: BCube and Chongqing accord on logistics and goods transport

An agreement was signed between the Chongquing Economic and International Cooperation Commission (COFTEC) and the Italian logistics firm BCube. The agreement could be a turning point for BCube in both sectors in which it is engaged in China: goods transport and factory logistics. In regard to goods transport, the agreement calls for COFTEC’s commitment to subsidising the Italian firm so as to reduce the costs of utilising the Chongqing-Duisburg railway, and facilitate the subsequent steps that BCube will have to confront along with the Chinese group, which manages the Duisburg-Chongqing tract of the Minsheng intercontinental railway, in order to begin to use the train in a stable manner. According to the agreement, BCube will establish itself in Chongquing with its own logistics centre, which could be located in the area that already hosts the IVECO and Fiat factories, i.e. the well-known New Development Zone of Liang Jiang.
