Cologne – The “Eternal Colours” of the Venini glassmakers shineat the Italian Institute of Culture

Venini is a byword for authenticity and for a perfect balance between a quest for excellence, contemporary design, and the great Murano glassmaking tradition. The intuitions of its international artists and designers have kept moving the company forward for over 90 years. A passion for glass and the art of glassblowing captivate Germany, too: as part of the “Passagen 2016” fair, the Italian Cultural Institute in Cologne is hosting the exhibition “Venini – Eternal colours”, dedicated to one of Murano’s most important historic glass factories. The exhibition opens on Monday January 18 at the Italian Cultural Institute and will run until the 24th. Curator Heiko Kalitowitsch’s selection of new creations and classic pieces exploits the transparency and opacity of Venetian glass to great effect.
