Russia – Italian competes in language Olympics

The auditorium of the Moscow State University of Linguistics (MGLU) hosted on Wednesday the regional round of the Olympics of three languages: Italian, Chinese and Spanish, idioms that are rarely dedicated a specific course in Russian middle and secondary schools. Thanks to this competition, the three foreign languages have officially acquired the same dignity as English, French and German, and have been included among the subjects of the EGE pre-University Unified State Exam.

The opening ceremony was attended by the first secretary of the Italian Embassy, Agostino Penna, the second secretary of the Chinese Embassy, the head of the education department of the Spanish Embassy and the director of the Cervantes Institute. The final round of these special Olympics will be held in Volgograd in mid-April.
