Sydney – “The Water of Life”, a show of the work of Loris Liberatori

Big waves, the energy that the swells release towards the sky, nature budding to life and rustling rivers are the themes inspiring the work of Loris Liberatori, born in La Spezia, and residing in Rome for over 30 years, where he manages the École d’Art Martenot. Liberatori’s work will take centre stage in Sydney in the exhibition “The Water of Life”, which will be opened at the Italian Institute of Culture (IIC) in Sydney on May 5 by Pier Francesco Zazo, the Italian Ambassador in Canberra, with the attendance of the Italian Consul General in Sydney, Arturo Arcano.

The show will run until June 16 and will display unexhibited works specifically created for the exhibition spaces of the IIC for his first show in Australia. The artist elevates a hymn to water as the irreplaceable source of life, energy and wealth, through his mastery of an extremely refined chromaticism technique alternating bright and dimmed down shades that transfigure real landscapes into landscapes of the soul. Liberatori is one of the artists whose work is included in the Farnesina Collection and some of his works are on permanent display at the residence of the Italian Ambassador in Canberra.
