As part of the Photoespaña 2016 International Festival, the Italian Institute of Culture in Madrid has staged the photographic show “Gabriele Basilico, Architecture and the City. Photographs from the Maxxi Collection”, curated by Margherita Guccione and Simona Antonacci. The show, which will open on 27 May and run until 6 September, consists of an itinerary across different Italian and international cities, portrayed from the perspective of one of the greatest contemporary photographers. The pictures on display are taken from the Photographic Collection of the Maxxi Architecture Collection, which have been committed to the Milan-based photographer over time, bearing witness to the long collaboration with the artist ever since 2002, and from the Maxxi Art Collection, which contains the core of Basilico’s historic “portraits”.
