It is the first foreign investment made by the Italian Nord Group, a company established in 1984 in Reana del Rojale (Udine), which operates in the metal and steel sector with a special focus on metal carpentry for the machinery and construction sectors.
The project was motivated by the Italian company’s need to create a processing plant in Albania for the production of chromium from the minerals extracted from mines. The investment is comprehensively worth 1,250,000 euros, of which 880,000 will be allocated in 2016 and 270,000 in 2018, plus 100,000 euros as circulating capital. The plant is destined to carry out the industrial processing of chrome to produce the concentrate, to be used in a broad range of applications. When in full operation, the plant will have a production capacity of more than 9,000 tons of chrome concentrate a month. The production site covers an area of 40,000 square metres and is located in a strategic position relatively to the important mineral deposits present in the Country.
