Israel is paying tribute to Florence, 50 years since the flood that overwhelmed the city in 1966. The Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) in Tel Aviv is marking this anniversary, on 14 to 19 January, at the Neve Schechter, with a special event attended by the Mayor of Florence, Dario Nardella. The documentary film “Florence 66 – After the flood” will be shown during the event, in the presence of its director Enrico Pacciani, whose work investigates the effects on the city, half a century after the event, through the accounts of people who experienced it and experts, together with precious archive images. Co-produced by Alkermes Films and Sky Arte HD, the film was presented in Florence during the commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the flood, in the presence of Italian President, Sergio Mattarella. The evening in Tel Aviv is organised by the IIC with the Italian Embassy in Israel.
