The Consulate General in Los Angeles, in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute, has organised an event to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Treaties of Rome, or the establishment of the European Community. The event will take place on March 28 on the premises of the Italian Cultural Institute. The round table will focus on the topical issues of the European project, the enlargement prospects and completion of the European Economic and Monetary Union, and the major challenges for the Union, namely security, immigration and economic recovery.
The celebrations and the round table will be opened by the Consul General, Antonio Verde, and will be followed by other rapporteurs:
Sinisa Grgic, Consul General of Croatia, representing the EU Presidency;
Juli Minoves-Triquel, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Cooperation and Culture of the Principality of Andorra, Professor of Political Sciences at the University of La Verne;
David Andrews, Director of Contemporary European Studies and Professor of International Relations at Scripps College, Claremont;
Justin Hughes, Professor of Law at the Law School of Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
