​The exhibition titled “Ever closer Union” opens in Seoul

The travelling exhibition titled “Ever closer Union” has opened in Seoul at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Rome Treaties. The inauguration was attended by over 100 people representing European, Korean diplomatic and academic milieus. Students also participated.

The exhibition, curated by the Historical Archives of the European Union and the European University Institute, was organized by the Italian Embassy to Korea and the Italian Cultural Institute in Seoul, the European Delegation and the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence of the University of Foreign Studies.

The addresses delivered by Joelle Yvonnet (EU DEL), Marco della Seta, Ambassador of Italy, and the President of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, Kim Shi Hon, highlighted the great project of peace, freedom and prosperity which was set in motion in Europe following the signing of the Treaties. All presenters voiced their hopes for the celebrations to be a new starting point to promote further progress.After the inauguration, a social moment followed during which Korean students learning European languages (21 languages are taught at the university) were able to engage in conversation with diplomats of different EU Member States.
