Brexit – Online assistance for Italian citizens

The activation of Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty last 29 March has expedited the procedure of the United Kingdom’s exit from Europe. To meet the concerns of the many Italian citizens residing in the United Kingdom over the possible consequences of the UK’s exit from the EU and their status in the future, the Italian Embassy, together with the Consulates General in London and Edinburg, has decided to activate a special online assistance service especially addressed to Italians living in the United Kingdom. The Embassy has devoted a new section of its website to Brexit, which is structured into three sections: News, periodically updated with the latest developments; Frequently Asked Questions, with the issues most frequently asked in the last few months; and Meetings, containing the schedule of the periodical guidance meetings managed by the Italian Consulate General in London which will tackle the specific issues regarding Brexit. The calendar of meetings will be made available on the website over the next few days. Italians wishing to participate in the meetings are requested to register on the Consulate’s website. There is also an e-mail address – londra.brexit@esteri.it – to which Italians can send questions that are unanswered on the Frequently Asked Questions section of the website.
