A swimmer just before a suprise attack by an inflatable shark, a dog riding a skateboard:and other unusual scenes of everyday life await visitors to the exhibition “Vía” Street Photography from Hamburg to Palermo”. It is being held at the Italian Cultural Institute of Hamburg at 7pm on Friday 5 May. The photography on display is the result of a project started in 2014 by the Goethe-Institute – ten photographers, five in Germany and five in Italy, over a year, photographed their cities according to the standards of street photography. The different perspectives of the photographers resulted in a collection of images capturing spontaneous moments of everyday life, from Hamburg to Palermo. The exhibition, organised by the Cultural Institute in collaboration with the Goethe-Institute, will be open until 8 September. Italy is represented by Umberto Verdoliva, photographer and founder of SPontanea, a group of Italian photographers dedicated to street photography, Mary Cimetta and Stefano Mirabella, also from the SPontanea group and Michele Liberti and Giorgio Scalici (EyeGoBananas).
