Training for newly-hired diplomats with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Thirty-two young Italian diplomats recently hired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received highly instructive training today in their visit to the United Nations Logistics Base in Brindisi and the companies of the Angel group (Sitael, Blackshape and Mermec).

In Brindisi, the young diplomats visited the Global Service Centre which provides logistics and telecommunications support for UN peace missions. A visit was also made to the Humanitarian Response Depot in San Vito dei Normanni, which dispatches humanitarian aid to crisis areas.

The visit to the Angel group in Monopoli gave the new-hires the chance to witness first-hand the recognized Italian excellence in the aerospace and transport industries. The Angel group has always been able to count on the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the diplomatic and consular network as it has expanded to international markets.

Right from the start of their careers, this mission has given the young diplomats the opportunity to learn more about key aspects of their professional profiles. This includes UN-related peace building and peace keeping and supporting Italian companies abroad.
