The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, is on a diplomatic mission to Colombia and Brazil from today until 24 February.
In Bogotá, Minister Alfano will bring a tangible testimony of Italy’s support to the post-conflict phase that Colombia is going through and will discuss how to enhance economic and commercial relations with local Authorities. On the minister’s agenda are meetings with the foreign minister, the energy minister, the post-conflict minister and the president of the Republic.
The minister’s trip to Brazil confirms the intention to relaunch the two Countries’ bilateral relations and aims to strengthen our economic and commercial presence and discuss the most relevant international and regional dossiers (with a special focus on the situation in Venezuela). In Sao Paulo, Minister Alfano will have an institutional meeting with the mayor, in Brasilia with the President of the Republic, the minister of foreign affairs, the minister of justice, the minister of economic planning and the minister of defence, in Belo Horizonte, he will cut the ribbon of the new premises of the Italian Consulate at the presence of the governor of the Minas Gerais State, and then he will have official meetings in Rio de Janeiro.
