Norway: Vipiteno-based Leitner Ropeways to build the cable car in Voss
It will be an Italian company, the Vipiteno-based Leitner Ropeways, to deliver a new cable way to the ski and tourist resort on Mount Hangur, in Voss. It will be the first three-cable car line to be installed in Scandinavia, for a total investment of approximately 30 million euros.
The new system will include 13 Pininfarina-designed cable cars with a capacity for 34 people each and a transport capacity of 1,500 persons an hour. The new cable way will be completed and ready to open in the summer of 2019. The departure terminal is the located at the railway station of Voss while the arrival terminal is on the peak of Mount Hangur, at an altitude of 820 meters; the 2-km run takes 6 minutes.
UN: Geneva hosts a workshop on the Strategic Heritage Plan
The United Nations building in Geneva hosted the Workshop “How to do business with the United Nations in the context of the Strategic Heritage Plan renovation project”, to illustrate three calls for projects to renew the United Nations’ building complex. The first call concerns the construction of a new building H and has already been adjudicated to the Swiss company Implenia and is expected to be concluded by 2019.
The second call offers immediate business opportunities and concerns the renovation of the complex’s historical buildings of Palais des Nations and specifically buildings A, B, C, D, S, which date back to 1930. From the beginning of April through to the end of August, the UNGM will publish the calls relative to the upgrading and refurbishing of meeting halls, office spaces, the enlargement of the canteen, the installation of a new electricity, heating and ventilation system, for a procurement volume of 260 million Swiss Francs.
The third and last project concerns the rehabilitation of building E, worth a procurement volume of approximately 140 million Swiss Francs and for which the United Nations will launch a tendering procedure starting from 2021.
