Spotlights will focus on the professions of the world of cinema in the week from 21 to 27 May:

More than 100 testimonials will take part in conferences, masterclasses and public debates, organised by the Italian diplomatic and consular network and Cultural Institutes around the world.
In the week from 21 to 27 May, spotlights will focus on the professions of the world of cinema: this is the spirit motivating the first edition of “Fare Cinema” (“Making Films”), an event to promote the ingenuity and creativity of Italian professionals in this sector. Not only film directors and actors but also set designer, costume designers, makeup artists, hairdressers, cinematographers, composers, casting directors (and many more) will be the ambassadors of Italian cinema in the world.

Action…on tour in the world!

More than 100 testimonials will take part in conferences, masterclasses and public debates, organised by the Italian diplomatic and consular network and Cultural Institutes around the world. The “ambassadors of the cinema” will testify to their experience on national and international sets in more than 100 cities, speaking of the daily work they perform with passion, creativity and great technical expertise. The events will be organised around these testimonials with a view to reaching out to a qualified audience of professionals in the sector and enhance the interest of international audiences in Italian productions.

“Fare Cinema” is a project promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), in partnership with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (MiBACT) and is the result of a joint effort with public and private players in the Italian film-making sectors, especially ANICA e Istituto Luce – Cinecittà. The initiative was implemented in close cooperation with trade associations such as ASC (Associazione Italiana Scenografi, Costumisti e Arredatori – Italian Association of Set and Costume Designers and Decorators), AIC (Autori Italiani della Cinematografia – Italian Film Authors), ACMF (Associazione Compositori Musica per Film – Association of Film Music Composers), ANTEPAC ( Associazione Italiana Truccatori e Parrucchieri del Cineaudiovisivo – Italian Association of Cinema and Audiovisual Makeup Artists and Hairdressers), UICD (Unione Italiana Casting Directors – Italian Union of Casting Directors), AMC  (Associazione Montaggio Cinematografico e Televisivo – Association of Italian Film and TV Editors).

“Fare Cinema” falls within the scope of the “The Italian Way of Life” Integrated Promotion Plan, in which cinema is a priority issue.

“The cinema does not need big ideas, passionate loves or indignation; it only imposes a daily task: make films” [Federico Fellini]
