The Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for combatting corruption, Paola Severino, is visiting Kiev to take part in the International Forum on good governance, international aspects and national experiences in combatting corruption. The forum is organised by the Aspen Institute and chaired by Marta Dassù. Special Representative Severino will have a full schedule of meetings, and will meet Minister of Foreign Affairs, Klimkin, Minister of Internal Affairs, Avakov, the Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, Sytnyk, and the Prosecutor General, Lutsenko, on the sidelines of the event. Severino has also arranged for a meeting with some members of civil society and a group of Rada (unicameral parliament) deputies. Her diplomatic mission will flank the diplomatic mission of Lamberto Zannier, OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, during these days. Franco Frattini, Special Representative of the Italian Chairmanship for the settlement of the conflict in Transdniestria, will also go to Kiev to take part in the traditional Yalta European Strategy Conference on 14 September. “An important week for the OSCE in Ukraine” said Ambassador, Davide La Cecilia, “showing how important this country is for the Organisation, and the absolute priority that the dossier has for the holder of the Italian Chairmanship”.
