SAIPEM has been awarded a contract for the provision of engineering services for the construction of a floating platform owned by Shell

SAIPEM has been awarded a contract worth approximately 25 million euros for the provision of engineering services for the possible construction of a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit owned by Shell off the coast of Brazil. In such case, the FPSO would be used to exploit the “Gato do Mato” oil and gas field, found at a depth of approximately 2,000 metres in the “Santos Basin”; located approximately 300 km off the coast of the city of Santos (state of São Paulo), the Basin covers an area of over 350,000 km2 and is currently the country’s main source of oil and gas. If Shell decides to build the FPSO, SAIPEM, in partnership with some Brazilian companies, will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation activities.
