India – FPT Industrial (Iveco Group) and Blu Energy Motors enter into partnership

FPT Industrial (Iveco Group) and Blu Energy Motors have signed a supply contract for introducing, on Indian roads, by the end of 2022, the first lorries equipped with FPT engines running on LNG. The engines lower Co2 emissions by up to 30% compared with traditional engines; they are assembled at the Turin plant of FPT Industrial, which employs over 2,600 people and is specialised in this type of medium displacement engines. The contract is a first step towards a possible long-term cooperation, aimed at seizing the opportunities of India’s freight transport market, which is particularly interesting, considering that there are roughly 3.5 million heavy vehicles circulating in India.
