The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, opens today at Villa Madama the event “Don Oreste Benzi: Costruttore di Ponti per la Giustizia Globale e la Solidarietà” (Don Oreste Benzi: Bridge Builder for Global Justice and Solidarity), organized on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of the founder of the Community Pope John 23rd, an emblematic figure of the Italian Catholic Church of the 20th century.
The Secretary of State of the Holy See, H.E. Card. Pietro Parolin, and the President of the Community Pope John 23rd, Matteo Fadda, will take the floor at the event.
The program will be divided into two thematic sessions during which direct testimonies of the action of the Community Pope John 23rd, present in more than sixty countries in the world, will be shared, such as the experience of the shelter home, the inclusion of people with disabilities and recovery from addictions. These thematic sessions will provide public actors and civil society a forum for discussion on their joint commitment in the promotion of peace, mediation and human security.
