Minister Terzi speaks by telephone with German foreign minister Westerwelle

Minister for Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi had a cordial telephone conversation this morning with German foreign minister Guido Westerwelle. During the conversation Minister Terzi expressed his deep sympathies for the tragic loss of German lives in the wreck of the Concordia, assuring that he was in close contact with the Civil Defence Department and that the Italian authorities were doing everything possible to identify the missing, which include several German citizens.

Westerwelle thanked Terzi for his words of solidarity, confirming his full confidence in our country’s ability to shoulder the burden of the disaster, and adding that, if requested, Germany would be willing to send in skilled technicians to facilitate operations.
