“I am especially pleased with the combined institutional commitment that has allowed Italy to be the first EU founder country to ratify Croatia’s Accession Treaty”, Minister Terzi commented upon his arrival in Hanoi, referring to yesterday’s Senate vote. The minister underscored that “the record time with which this constitutional requisite has been fulfilled bears witness to Italy’s convinced support for Croatia’s historic entry into Europe”.
“We shall continue to foster and encourage the European integration of all the Western Balkans countries”, Terzi concluded, “which we consider fundamental to promoting the stability and development of that region”.
