Council of IILA Delegates meet in Rome; Latin America a natural partner for Italy, says Terzi

Minister for Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi hosted the 20 Latin American ambassadors who make up the IILA (Italo-Latin American Institute) Council of Delegates today at the foreign ministry in Rome.

“Latin America is a natural partner for Italy, for historical reasons and in view of our common values and cultural affinities”, Terzi asserted, pointing out that Italy intends to promote dialogue on global agenda items while continuing to act as a bridge between Latin America and Europe.

In reiterating IILA’s pivotal importance to Italy’s relations with the region, Minister Terzi expressed his hope that collaboration with the Institute would be further strengthened, not least in anticipation of the 6th Italy-Latin America and Caribbean Conference to be held in Rome in October 2013.
